California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) Requirements

 

 

 

ALL LEARNERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING A-G MINIMUM SUBJECT REQUIREMENTS WITH A GRADE OF "C-" OR HIGHER TO BE UC/CSU ELIGIBLE
HISTORY (A):

2 years of history/social science, including:

  • 1 year of World History
  • 1 year of US History or 1/2 year of US History and 1/2 a year of Economics (Passion Project) or Political Science (Amer. Civics)
ENGLISH (B): 4 years of college preparatory English (Literature & Language)
MATHEMATICS (C): 3 years required, 4 recommended including Math I, II, and III
SCIENCE (D):

2 years of laboratory science (life/physical) required, 3 years recommended including:

  • CSU: Living Earth, Chemistry of the Earth
  • UC: Living Earth, Chemistry of the Earth, Physics, etc.
WORLD LANGUAGE (E):

2 years required of the same language, 3 years recommended

VISUAL & PERFORMING ART (F):

1 year required

  • Examples: Dance, Drama, Art, Music, etc.
COLLEGE PREP ELECTIVE (G):

1 year required in addition to those required in "A-F"

  • Examples: Level 3 World Language, Pre-Calculus, etc.
