Community Service

Although Portola High School does not require community service for graduation, we believe community service to be a valuable and rich experience for the high school learner.  Learners who complete 25 community service hours per year will receive recognition of those hours on their transcript.  Community service hours completed during the summer can be included in the school year following that summer.  Community Service Forms must be submitted each year for recognition.

Requirements (only one of the following items below is necessary)

  • Supervisor's signature on the community service log
  • A separate letter from the supervisor specifying community service and hours completed
  • Business card of supervisor
  • Flyer of community service event

Please submit your community service log when all 25 hours are completed!

    2018-19 Community Service Form

Deadline for submitting hours is June 7th, 2019 at 4:00 PM

Some ideas for learners to gain community service hours is to join a community service club, search for opportunities via www.volunteermatch.org, or researching local community service organizations (see below).
